Team Identity

I like most of you was completely baffled by the poor performance by the WVU football team, especially on a few tentative moments against Auburn on Saturday Night (Sunday Morning).  Every sign pointed to an offensive team that would have its way and move the ball at will against an Auburn team that really wasn't very impressive defensively.  Then it happened.......the air kind of came out of the bubble and the offense became tentative and hesitant.  Almost as if they went into a prevent, and we all know how that usually turns out.  Devine had 91 yards in 4 carries and ends with 128 for the game.  Mismatches at receiver which were obvious early were seemingly abandoned and when they were used the throw was not the crisp, decisive throw we saw early, but as if Brown were trying to aim his passes, and rather poorly I might add.  The bright spots?  Jock Sanders, the rush defense (even without Berry and Williams) and the kicking game was effective rahter than porous.  There is no blame for the poor play, although nerves, inexperience, or poor weather conditions might all seem appropriate considering the monsoon prior to the kickoff, would certainly contain merit.  Nope, they simply need to get back to the drawing board, practice a little harder, get healthy and remember that JB is not, nor will he ever be, Pat White.  He brings his own flavor to the game, and so far it has been rather sweet.  Can't wait to see the finished product!  I will say one thing though.  I love ladies, but not as my mountaineer.  Get the bearded guys back and remind them that the coonskin cap is PART of the costume.

Team Identity

Please don't forget the Coaches,,,Stewart and Mullens. Football players are a reflection of their coaches, most fumbles and interceptions are caused by not protecting the ball and forced passes and bad judgement usually lead to interceptions. I think the biggest reasons for these miscues are coaching, at least 90%. When WV decides that the football program is heading downhill, maybe someone will decide that Stewart and Mullens should find employment elsewhere, maybe NAIA, or high school football. One other note,,get rid of the Big Bird yellow uniforms,,please I hate to watch football games with sunglasses on.
